2020 promises to be an extremely volatile year with many challenges and obstacles. Navigating a market at record highs will take dedication, commitment, patience and lots of Zantex.  Contributing blogger Tom Muir and Investment Mob saw explosive gains thanks to his 19 Stocks for under $19 in 2019. Tom crushed it, giving out 13 of 19 winners and recording a 23% gain for the year.  Tom's portfolio featured 3 buyouts: Array Biopharma (ARRY), Carbon Black (CBLK), and Pivotal Software (PVTL). Huge gains came from Array Biopharma (ARRY), up over 230% , and Carbon Black (CBLK) which was a Double You Money Pick!!!  The Big loser of the Portfolio was electric car maker Nio (NIO), down only 70% thanks to and end of year run that finally saw a positive move in their Earnings Per Share!!!

Currently has a yield of 10.60%

2. Cabot Oil & Gas (COG $17.13)  explores for, exploits, develops, produces, and markets natural gas, oil, and natural gas liquids. Primarily focuses on the Marcellus Shale in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania.

3. Exelsis (EXEL $17.72) – oncology biotechnology company that focuses on the discovery, development, and commercialization of new medicines to treat cancers.   Products include Cabomytex for the treatment of patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma; and Cometriq for the progressive and metastatic medullary thyroid cancer.

4. Fastly (FSLY $19.52) operates an edge cloud platform for processing, serving, and securing its customer's applications. The edge cloud enables developers to build, secure, and deliver digital experiences at the edge of the Internet.

5. Fireye  (FEYE $16.58)  cybersecurity solution for detecting, preventing, and resolving cyber-attacks.  Major data breaches including hacks, trojan horses, malware and numerous hosts of digital disruption will become tougher to prevent in 2019.

6. First Horizon National (FHN $16.58) operates as the bank holding company for First Tennessee Bank National Association that provides various financial services. Operating 297 financial centers in Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina and South Carolina.

7. Invesco (IVZ $17.93)  global investment management manager of equities, fixed income and alternatives to retail clients, institutional clients, high-net worth clients, public entities, foundations, pension funds, financial institutions, and sovereign wealth funds.

8. JetBlue (JBLU $18.71) provides air transportation services to 101 destinations in 30 states in the United States. In 2019, airlines may reap significant year-over-year fuel-cost savings, however competition from carriers has made unit revenue growth challenging.

9. Lattice Semiconductor (LSCC $19.08) primarily serves original equipment manufacturers in the communications and computing, mobile and consumer, and industrial and automotive end markets. The company's new product introductions include artificial intelligence, 5G wireless infrastructure and platform security. 

10. Macy’s (M $16.77) retail organization, operates stores, Websites, and mobile applications under the Macy's and Bloomingdale's names; and as well as Bloomingdale's The Outlet, Bluemercury, Macy's Backstage and STORY.

11. Mylan (MYL $19.43) develops, licenses, manufactures, markets, and distributes generic, branded-generic and brand-name pharmaceutical products. The company also provides prescription products, such as EpiPen Auto-Injector; Influvac; and YUPELRI, an inhalation solution for the maintenance treatment of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases.

12. Myovant Sciences (MYOV $15.65) focuses on developing and commercializing therapies for women's health and endocrine diseases.  The company's lead product is relugolix, an oral, once-daily, small molecule that acts as a gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor antagonist for the treatment of heavy menstrual bleeding related to uterine fibroids, endometriosis-associated pain, and advanced prostate cancer. It is also developing MVT-602, an oligopeptide kisspeptin agonist, for the treatment of female infertility as part of assisted reproduction. 

13. Nuance Communications (NUAN $17.76) provides conversational artificial intelligence innovations. The company delivers solutions that understand, analyze, and respond to people to increase productivity and security. 

14. Photronics (PLAB $15.93) manufactures and sells photomasks which are high precision photographic quartz or glass plates containing microscopic images of electronic circuits for use in the manufacture of semiconductors and flat panel displays.  

15. Pinterest (PINS $18.11)  is a visual discovery engine people use to find inspiration for their lives, including recipes, home and style ideas, travel destinations and more. 

16. Tegna (TGNA $16.57) operates as a media company and operates television stations and radio stations that deliver television programming and digital content. As of early 2019 Tegna operated 49 television stations and 2 radio stations in 41 markets. The company was formerly known as Gannett Co.

17. Transmedics Group (TMDX $18.79) medical technology company which engages in transforming organ transplant therapy for end-stage organ failure patients.

18. Under Armour (UA $18.99) develops, markets, and distributes branded performance apparel, footwear, and accessories for men, women, and youth.

19. Viking Therapeutic (VKTX $7.93) focuses on the development of novel therapies for metabolic and endocrine disorders. Viking phase 2 pipeline:  hip fracture drug (VK5211); mid-stage fatty liver disease medicine (VK2809) and Type 2 Diabetes (VIK0612). Fourteen employees and a $601 million market cap.

20. Voyagers Therapeutic (VYGR $13.41) clinical-stage gene therapy company, focuses on the development of treatments for patients suffering from severe neurological diseases. Has a $553 million market cap and 123 employees.
